Westmorland Honey Festival Creates Buzz

WESTMORLAND – The 9th annual Westmorland Honey Festival was the buzz Saturday morning at Westmorland Citizens Park giving families and visitors of the small town some time to relax and enjoy themselves with others of the community.

Dino jumps, a train ride around the park, and boxing matches were among the visible areas of fun for children and parents.

The activities started at 7:00 a.m. with a Pancake Breakfast thrown by the Westmorland Lions Club. If you were lucky enough to get a seat inside the Lions Club, located across the street from Citizens Park, you could hear the musical entertainment of the California State Old time Fiddlers Association.

A 5k Run and Mini Parade followed the breakfast along with performances on the Main Stage by Westmorland Mini Drill Team and Dancing, Singing for Jesus Girls’ Group.

The choices in fun and entertainment were endless from jumping in Dino Jumps, to watching the various performances on the main stage, or the boxing exhibitions all going on simultaneously.  The Festival offered something  for people of ages and interests.

Along with a great family atmosphere and overall community backing, the City of Westmorland has found success in its annual Honey Festival.  The organizers of the Honey festival visitors look forward to the tenth edition next year and creating an even bigger buzz.
