Two Men Arrested for Drugs During Traffic Stop


chp badgeBRAWLEY – On Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at around 8:58 p.m., a California Highway Patrol K-9 Unit conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Cadillac Deville for a traffic violation.

Throughout the traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver, Javier Meneses, age 28 of Westmorland, was on Parole.

The Brawley Police Department assisted the traffic stop, where a parole search was conducted on the vehicle where multiple bundles of heroin and methamphetamine were found.

Methamphetamine was also found on the passenger, Ivan Luna, age 38 of Calipatria.

With the assistance of the Westmorland Police Department, a parole search was conducted at Meneses’ residence in Westmorland.

During the search, additional drugs and contraband were found, containing methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and materials for packaging for sale.

Diana Barragan age 31, resided with Meneses, was  arrested at the residence after the search.

Child Protective Services were called to the scene and took custody of two minors.

The bail amount was set to $20,000
