Home owner arrives home to find a robber inside
CALEXICO — On December 7, Calexico Police Officer West responded to a residence on the 1200 block of E. Second Street in reference to a burglary. The victim stated when he arrived at his residence, he heard someone inside as they locked the door after he had unlocked the door to enter. The suspect held the door shut so the victim could not get inside. The suspect went out of a bedroom window and jumped the fence. The victim chased the suspect on foot and lost him in the area of Second Street and Paseo De Su Alteza. Miscellaneous jewelry was taken from the residence. A crime report was taken.

K9 shot after attempting to bite a Sheriff Officer
SALTON CITY — On December 7, Sheriff officers responded to the area of Sand Dune and Sand Ere in reference to two K9’s fighting while two juveniles attempted to split them up. When officers arrived, one of the K9 ran toward one of the officers in an attempt to bite him. The officer shot the K9 and the other ran off. No one was injured other than the K9 that was shot by the officer in self-defense and pronounced dead at the scene.

Man punched in face by co-worker at scrap yard
EL CENTRO — On December 7, Sheriff officers responded to a call at the El Centro Regional Medical Center where a 61-year-old patient reported being punched in the face by a co-worker one day prior. According to the victim the incident happened at the scrap yard at Dogwood and Keystone roads. The victim did not press criminal charges against the aggressor.
