Jake Sanchez Caribbean

Brawley native (#48) Jake Sanchez summoned to pitch in the 2019 Caribbean Series of Baseball in Panama.

MEXICALI, B.C. – The official roster has been announced for the 2019 Caribbean Baseball Series in which two players from the Mexicali Aguilas team have been selected.

Left-handed pitcher Alex Delado and reliever Jake Sanchez were the players selected by the Jalisco Charros to reinforce the championship pitching staff in the next Caribbean Series slated for Panama from February 4 through February 10 of 2019.

Reliever Jake Sanchez had been summoned as a closer during the Repesca Series versus the Hermorsillo Naranjeros and then later by the Obregon Yaquis for the semi-final where he played in six games with a (0-1) record, 2.45 earned run average, and will now represent Mexico during the Caribbean Series.

On the other hand, lefty Alex Delgado was not active during the 2018-19 Pacific Mexican Baseball League playoffs but was a reliever for the Caracas Leones from the Valenzuela Professional Baseball League where he reached the championship game.

The Mexicali Aguilas would like to congratulate both pitchers and wish them the best on their 2019 Caribbean Series endeavor in Panama.
