SIT and SERT recover drugs and make arrests in Holtville



HOLTVILLE – On Wednesday, September 9, around 9:00 a.m.,  the Imperial Valley Street Interdiction Team (SIT) and the ICSO Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT) served a narcotic search warrant at a house located on the 700 Block of Walnut Avenue in Holtville, CA.

The search of the residence resulted in over 20 grams of methamphetamine being recovered, seized and recorded as evidence, along with packaging material, methadone pills and drug paraphernalia.

Juan “Johnny “ Padilla, 27 years of age who lives at the location, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale.


Maricela Lopez, 32 years of age from El Centro, was charged with being in Possession of Methamphetamines, for being in Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and for being at a Place Where Drugs are Use or Sold.

In addition to the charges listed above, Padilla was found to be in possession of over three grams of methamphetamine concealed on his person while being booked into the Imperial County Jail, and received an additional charge of  Bringing a Controlled Substance into Jail.

The investigation was completed and the case has been submitted to the Imperial County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
