(El Centro, CA) – The week of September 16-22, 2012, is Child Passenger Safety Week. This week is an excellent opportunity to increase community awareness on how to properly secure children in child safety seats and seat belts. It is also an ideal time to remind the public of a law that went into effect in California on January 1, 2012, requiring children to remain in a child safety seat or booster seat until the age of 8 or until they reach a height of 4 feet 9 inches.
The El Centro CHP office will be conducting a Child Safety Seat clinic on Saturday September 22nd, at Cardenas Market in El Centro.
CHP Officers will be inspecting/installing car seats from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon.
We will be happy to help you If you have questions regarding your car seat:
* Does your child need to be in a car seat?
* What type of car seat is right for your child?
* Is your car seat installed properly?
