“Saturday Morning Hoops” a play and learn basketball morning

BRAWLEY – Former coaches and teammates of the late Captain Scott Pace will be holding a free basketball clinic on Saturday, June 1.


The Saturday Morning Hoops will start at 8:00 a.m. and run until 12:00, noon. The clinic will be for those from 1st grade to 6th grade and will be held at the Gateway Church gym at the corner of Legion Road and Highway 86.


Although the event is free, donations will be accepted for the Captain Scott Pace Scholarship Fund.  Please call 760-344-2684 to confirm attendance.


Capt. Scott Pace died June 6, 2012, in Qarah Bagh, Afghanistan, when the helicopter he was piloting crashed after being hit by Taliban fire. He had been the captain of the Brawley Wildcat Varsity Basketball team his senior year at BUHS and went on to play basketball at West Point Academy.
