Police ask public for help on a Sunday night stabbing


EL CENTRO  РThe El Centro Police Department received a call of a stabbing on Sunday, October 15, at approximately 10:30 p.m. by Imperial and Ocotillo avenues, according to an El Centro police release. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the victim who was identified as a 42-year-old male transient from El Centro. The victim had been stabbed multiple times resulting in minor, non-life threatening injuries, according to the report.

According to reports, the victim was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance Service to El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.  A person at a nearby gas station, called the police after witnessing an altercation involving what was described as three Hispanic males at the intersection of Imperial and Main.

The subjects ran across the street into a nearby parking lot and fled the scene in a silver colored new model Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon SUV. The vehicle was seen fleeing the location of the incident and driving northbound on Imperial Avenue.
