Letters to the Editor

A heartfelt thank you to the business community, volunteers, friends, family, and committee members for helping us put together another successful event.

On Saturday, May 18, 2019, we held our fourth annual walk to recognize cancer survivors, remember those loved ones who have lost their battles, and the families and caregivers. Family and friends walked the 15 hours for which they solicited donations and sponsorships to raise money to help Imperial Valley cancer patients with those expenses that insurance policies don’t cover like gasoline, lodging, food, and other miscellaneous expenses.

From the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank Sun Community Federal Credit Union, A & R Construction, U.S. Fitness, Snap Fitness, Johnny’s Burritos, Mr. Fred Miramontes, One World Beef, PepsiCo Brawley, Sparkletts Water Brawley, Aaron’s El Centro, Paul Michael Ramirez/Frito Lays, El Centro, Foster Feed Yard, Layaye Farms, Velasquez & Associates, Vessey & Company, Inc., Joe and Rachel Rivas, RDO Equipment, Got Ice, Las Chabelas, Christine’s, Maranatha’s Steakhouse, Food 4 Less, Vons Brawley, Maria Sigmon, Tasty Donuts, Donut Avenue, Donuts Plus, Las Flores del Valle, Charlie Jones and his Country Line Dancers, Laura Blake Zumba, Patrick Montalvo, Mr. Richard S. Diaz, Mr. Robert Rodriguez, “Guero” for the ice, and Walmart Brawley.

Special thanks to the teams that made this happen: Sun Community Federal Credit Union, Queens of Hope, Quiroz Walking for a Cure, Team Brandon, and FOLO/For our loved ones. Again, Thank you!

Signed,

Joseph R. Ramirez
