Obama stated, “Usually, when you see the environment destroyed, it’s not because it’s necessary for development. It’s usually because we’re being lazy and we’re not being as creative as we could be about how to do it in a smarter, more sustainable way.â€
This is pure hogwash. If Obama’s brilliant gang of bureaucratic experts is so diligent and intellectually committed, why doesn’t it come up with an alternative to fossil fuels? Obama’s suggestion that industry is lazy is fully psychotic: private industry is forced into creativity thanks to competition Obama abhors. But according to Obama, capitalism is just as Ferngully portrayed it: a group of evil corporations too stupid and languid to do anything but chop down the nearest tree and drop it on the fairies of the forest.
Never mind that big government states like China are the world’s leading polluters, and developing countries like India join them at the top of the list. No, the problem is evil Americans being lazy about how not to kill Crysta.
Unlike Cosmopolitan Man, over here, who knows everything about other people – so much so that he’s handed the reins of power to China, Russia, Syria, and Iran. Obama’s big problem here isn’t that Americans are ignorant about other countries’ priorities – it’s that we don’t agree with them, and we’re not willing to fork over power to them. Obama thinks it’s simply the ugly American tourists demanding residents of Laos speak English who oppose his foreign policy. Actually, it’s sentient human beings with two eyes and retinal connections to a brain with a functional prefrontal cortex.
In the end, Obama’s eight-year-long apology tour won’t end, even after he leaves office. Obama’s an elitist, so he thinks all problems are technocratic rather than principled. Obama scorns Americans; he thinks anyone who disagrees with him is a rube from the sticks, not a principled American capable of thinking differently about risk assessment.
And that perspective is truly lazy.
