Guillermo Eduardo Rivas

May 30, 1970 – October 17, 2019

Guillermo Eduardo Rivas, 49, was born May 30, 1970, in Brawley, CA. Memo graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1990. He passed away October 17, 2019.

He worked at Del Taco earning Employee of the Month. 

Most recently, he was working ARC in El Centro, CA. For more than 10 years he was the honorary coach for the women’s softball team, Venom. Memo loved to dance and was known to start dancing as soon as he heard music. 

Memo also loved WWE, the Undertaker, John Cena and The Rock. Just by mentioning the Rock he would reply “The Rock is cooking.”

Memo made friends easily and everywhere he went he would run into his best buddy. He loved his nephews and nieces and affectionately was called, “Turkey Breath.”

Memo is preceded in death by his brother, Fred Rivas, and his grandfather, Ramon Magana.

He is survived by his mother, Maria Isabel Higareda, his brothers, Pete, (Katherine), Richard (Julie), and Steve (Betty), his sisters, Sandra and Eve, and Rosemary (Eric), and his grandmother, Aurora Magana. Memo also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct 24, 2019 from 6–9 p.m. at Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley. Funeral service will be Friday, Oct. 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Brawley. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Cemetery.
