Guadalupe "Lupe" Gonzalez

December 1, 1938 - October 7, 2022

Guadalupe "Lupe" Gonzalez of Brawley, California passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, at the age of 83. After a couple of years of declining health, Lupe died peacefully in his home with his family.

Lupe, as he is known to his family and friends, was born on December 1, 1938 in Santa Rosalia, Baja California Sur. The son of Serapio Gonzalez and Saturnina Valencia.

Lupe was a long-time resident of Brawley, CA. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked as a delivery driver for Fiesta Tortillas for approximately 34 years before retiring. He made friends everywhere he went and always had a smile on his face. He loved music, singing and dancing. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Our family would like to thank the Unicare Staff for the excellent care they provided him and a special thank you to Tesoro Ramirez who cared for him like family. We are forever grateful for your help and support.

Even though our hearts are breaking because we miss him dearly, we know he is in heaven dancing and laughing again.

Lupe is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Rosa Moreno and daughter Araceli

He is survived by his wife Adelina Gonzalez of 34 years; children Estella Castro, Ruben Arizmendi, Laura Gonzalez, and Crystal Gonzalez; sisters Carmela Gonzalez and Alicia Valencia. As well as his grandchildren Lizette Arizmendi, Ruben Arizmendi, Nathan Arizmendi, Henry Arizmendi, and Claire Espinoza.

A visitation for Lupe is planned for Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM. The visitation will be at Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley, CA.

Mass will be on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Brawley, CA. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery following the mass.
