Gerardo Diaz Moreno

October 3, 1932 – October 4, 2019

Mr. Diaz, 88, was born October 3, 1932, in La Piedad, Michoacan, Mexico. He married Francisca Leon Diaz on June 5, 1959, in Tijuana, Mexico.

Gerardo worked from a young age in agriculture throughout California and retired from the Fifield Land Company. He lived in Brawley, CA.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and working in his garden, De parte de su familia “Gracias Papa.”

Gerardo is preceded in death by his parents, Josefa and Buenaventura Diaz, and his son, Jose Diaz.

He is survived by his wife, Francisca Leon Diaz of Brawley, sons, Gerardo Diaz Jr. of Vista, Ventura Diaz (Maria) of Brawley, his daughters, Irma Rangel (Stephen) of El Centro, Irene Perez (Tony) of Bonita, his sister, Vicenta Diaz of Michoacan, Mexico, his sister-in-law, Genoveva Diaz of Brawley, plus grandchildren Stephen and Joseph Rangel; Marco, Cristian, and Aaron Perez; and Armando and Melissa Diaz; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 6–9 p.m. at Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley with a rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, October 11, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Brawley, with burial following the mass at Riverview Cemetery.
