Arthur Amador Valenzuela

Arthur Amador Valenzuela, 92, of Brawley, passed away February 24. He was born July 23, 1927 in Jacumba, to Frank and Ramona Valenzuela. He was one of 13 siblings. He attended schools in El Centro and graduated as a proud Spartan from Central Union High School. He served in the US Army during WWII. Upon returning from the war he started his own business, Art’s Trenching Service. He helped build the Imperial Valley for 20 years before he went to work for City of Brawley where he retired from after many years of service. Art was a great man who loved his family and community. He could be seen cruising the streets and roads of the Imperial Valley while checking the fields with his best friend Frank or simply helping a friend.

Arthur is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Christina; his parents, Frank and Ramona; his brothers, Philip, Marcus, Adolpho & William; and his sisters, Mary, Sophia, Sally & Caroline. He is survived by his children, David, Rosie, Susan, Alice and Renee Valenzuela and, Theresa and Steve Givens; his grandchildren, Sarah and Steve Thomas; his great-grandchildren, Katie and Seth Thomas; his siblings, Mel and Virginia Valenzuela; and his sister-in-law, Carmen and Sally Valenzuela.

There will be no service held.
