Antonio Plancarte Rodriguez

Antonio Plancarte Rodriguez, 88-years-old, co-residence in Calexico was called by the Lord on Monday, December 30. He was born in Uruapan, Michoacán, Mexico.
Then, Mr. Plancarte immigrated to the border region in the mid-1950s and worked under the Bracero program. He immigrated to the United States and then became a naturalized citizen.
He worked as a teams' operator in various agricultural operations in the Imperial Valley for more than 35 years, where he developed a reputation of being a great worker and for his meticulous attention to detail with crops.
He liked baseball, the Dodgers, either to watch a game on TV or to go to the winter league games in Mexicali.
He liked to play, and was practically unbeatable, in Dominoes. He was passionate about gardening, in which he cultivated enough herbs and species, fruits and vegetables to share with most of his neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther Bañales Ales Plancarte in 1993, who also immigrated from Michoacán, Mexico; daughter, Lucy Serrete and granddaughter, Martha Plancarte.
He is survived by his sisters, Maria Plancarte And Nativity Plancarte; son, Luis A. Plancarte, wife Martha Fajardo Plancarte; daughters, Esther p. Martinez, husband Frank Martinez and Rosemary P. Triviso, husband, Reyes Triviso; six grandchildren, Alwyn, Anthony Plancarte, Christian Plancarte, Katherine Plancarte, Andrew Triviso, and Christopher Triviso; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the church of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Calexico, Thursday, January 30.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by prayer of the rosary at 10 a.m.with Mass at 10:30 a.m.
The burial will take place at Mountain View in Calexico.
