March 31, 1966 - February 17, 2023

Andres “Andy” Bernal Benavides, 56, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023 at Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley, CA.
 
He was born March 31, 1966 in Brawley, to Ponciano and Eva (Bernal) Benavides. He attended Magnolia Union Elementary School and Brawley Union High School, graduating in 1984. He was a die hard fan of the Brawley Wildcats and the LA Rams football teams.
 
He faithfully attended Sunday Mass at St. Margaret Mary Church. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; family gatherings and chatting with friends. Always with a positive outlook on life.
 
He was preceded in death by his father, Ponciano Benavides. He is survived by his mother, Eva Benavides of Brawley; son Steven (Karen) Benavides and granddaughters Kehlani and Khloe of Huntington Beach; brothers: Federico (Jenny) Benavides, Robert (Alma) Benavides of Brawley, Ponciano, Jr. (Cindy) Benavides of Escondido; sisters: Maria Elena Morales of Florida, Carmen (Bao) Luu of San Diego, Gabriela Vargas of Arizona and Blanca (Rich) Walsh of Texas; numerous nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.
 
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Frye Chapel in Brawley. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Brawley. Internment will be immediately following the Mass at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.
