No Health Scam According to County

BRAWLEY — Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District and Brawley Police said they knew nothing about individuals going door to door in Brawley asking health related questions, and warned it may be a scam.

It turns out Imperial County is participating in a statewide Health Survey. The County is collaborating with the statewide health survey to learn more about respiratory health issues affecting residents living in the Northend of the county.

As part of the effort to ensure that all residents can participate in the survey, Public Health staff and nursing students at San Diego State University have begun contacting residents to ensure that there is a working telephone number for the survey. The staff and students are trained and approved to collect confidential information. They carry identification badges and certificates attesting to their training and are authorized to collect the information.

District 4 Supervisor Ryan Kelley says this is a great opportunity to learn more about the respiratory health issues that affect people living next to and near the Salton Sea.
