Hurtado verdict in

BRAWLEY — After four days of jury deliberations, a decision was finally delivered in the trial involving Alejandra Hurtado, the El Centro Police Department officer charged with violating PC 236 (False Imprisonment) and PC 245(a)(4) (Assault: Deadly Weapon — by means of force/produce great bodily injury), at the Imperial County Superior Courthouse in Brawley, Tuesday January 5.

Hurtado was found innocent on both counts — PC 236 and PC 245(a).

According to the District Attorney’s Office, the court declared a mistrial as the jury could not reach a decision (split eight for guilty, and four for not guilty) to the lesser included offenses in counts one and two.
