Karen Galvan of PMH Environmental Services Department honored

BRAWLEY -- Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District (PMHD) announced in a press release the selection of Environmental Assistant I Karen Galvan as October’s employee of the month.

According to the release, Galvan began her tenure at PMHD in 2018 working in the Environmental Services Department on mid-shift before switching over to night shift, focusing her efforts in the Emergency Department (ED).

The report said the ED is one of the most demanding cleaning locations in the hospital. Every day, rooms are occupied by multiple people seeking medical attention.

Galvan was nominated by Associate Administrator for Support Services Ryan Kelley, per the release.

Kelley’s nomination was supported by Espie Robles and Diana Rocha of Patient Registration, who shared their appreciation for Galvan’s work.

“[Galvan] works very hard and is a productive employee here at PMHD. She sets the example of dedication to her job and is very productive.”

Galvan said in the release that she was genuinely shocked when she learned of the honor and appreciated Kelley’s support.

“I enjoy the people [at PMH.] It is a great experience. I have met a lot of new people; everything is good here," said Galvan.
