OWB Packers begins exports to European Union

BRAWLEY –  Imperial Valley, CA-based beef processer OWB Packers announced European Union export certification via a press release on December 3.

“This EU certification allows our organization to enter one of the largest fresh beef import markets in the world,” said Eric Brandt, President and CEO of the One World Beef family of companies in the press release. “The EU now, in addition to our existing export routes to Asia and South America, bolsters our ability to serve our growing customer base in a period when US beef exports are at an all-time high,” explained Brandt. He further noted that “with the EU’s understandable concern with BSE and other cross-border contamination issues, it’s a notoriously difficult certification to attain and achieving it speaks volumes to the quality of the team at the plant.”

Brandt said in the release that the company already ships to Asia, South America, and Mexico.

OWB Packers operates as a custom toll processor for premium beef brands. The One World Beef family of companies operates multiple businesses along the beef supply chain; from purchasing cattle on the live market to worldwide distribution to various consumer channels, per the release.
