COCONINO COUNTY, AZ — The Coconino County Sheriff's Department reported a student from Northern Arizona University was killed and three others injured when the truck they were riding in ran off the road and hit a tree Friday night, September 28 shortly after 10:30 p.m, according to an Arizona newspaper. 

The accident happened Friday night southeast of Flagstaff on Ashurst Lake Road. Officers said a white Ford pickup had reportedly gone off the road striking a tree, according to the report.

Officials said Justin Denault, 19, of Imperial died at a local hospital. The driver and two other passengers were treated and released at Flagstaff Medical Center.

The accident is under investigation.
