Carpio 2020

BRAWLEY — Gilbert Carpio, the correctional officer that was booked on duty in March of 2019, charged with violating PC288(b)(1) Forcible Lewd Act Upon a Child and PC288(a) Lewd or Lascivious Act-Under 14 years, was scheduled for a preliminary setting at the Imperial County Superior Courthouse in Brawley Tuesday, November 24.

Carpio’s attorney, Chris Yturralde, notified the Honorable Judge Christopher Plourd a potential agreement had been reached and a disposition is anticipated.

As a plea-bargain appears to be the next step for Carpio, Plourd scheduled a preliminary hearing for Thursday, December 17, at the Imperial County Superior Courthouse in Brawley.
