CALEXICO — El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico Station seized packages filled with methamphetamine Friday morning, July 17, according to the release.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:20 a.m., when Border Patrol agents responded to a citizen’s call of a suspicious package located east of Barbara Worth Road and north of East Correll Road.

Agents located a black duffel bag wrapped in saran wrap inside a drain approximately a quarter mile east of Barbara Worth Road.  Inside the duffel bag, agents discovered 22 wrapped packages containing a white crystal-like substance.  Agents then transported the duffel bag and all of its contents to the Calexico Border Patrol Station for further processing.

At the station, the packages tested positive for methamphetamine, with a combined weight of 21.49 pounds and an estimated street value of $48,352.

The narcotic packages were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
