BRAWLEY – Cattle Call week has officially begun and if last night’s Mariachi Festival was any indication it will be one to remember.

The Plaza and downtown Main Street was closed to vehicle traffic and used to sell delicious food.  Whether it was tacos, bacon wrapped hot dogs, funnel cake, or kettle corn, the Mariachi festival had you covered.

Over 1500 people were in attendance and the packed house was serenaded by the melodic tones of Mexican mariachi music.

This event fell in the middle of a successful week of fun events, from Cowboy Poetry on Tuesday night to the final rodeo on Sunday.

Still coming is the BUHS Cowbell Tri-tip dinner Thursday night, the Bell Game Friday in El Centro, the chuck wagon breakfast on Saturday, followed by the parade and an afternoon and night rodeo.

Although the Bell game is not an official part to the Cattle Call weekend it usually falls on the weekend has a fun “Cattle Call” feel to it since the Brawley Boys have their own float in the parade the day after the football game.

If victorious, the Wildcats will be ringing the Bell throughout the parade route.
