case update 04/15/21

BRAWLEY — The two suspects, Rosita Torres and Daniel Munguia, charged with the 2019 homicide of Raul Esparza appeared in court remotely from the Imperial County Jail for a readiness conference, as codefendants, at the Imperial County Superior Courthouse in Brawley Thursday, April 15.

All parties agreed for current dates to remain set and the Honorable Judge William Quan set a preliminary hearing for Monday, April 20.

The district attorney requested an in-person hearing due to potential witnesses being required.

The court was notified Monday’s in-person preliminary hearing would carry the duration of two full days.
