BRAWLEY — Miguel Romero and Irma Magana, the suspects reportedly in connection to Sunday’s fatality of Brawley resident Daniella Gonzalez, appeared remotely from the Imperial County jail for an arraignment on charges of PC 187 (murder) Tuesday, February 16, at the Imperial County Superior Courthouse in Brawley.
Both defendants waived their right to be present and confirmed counsel. Romero and Magana submitted pleas of not guilty to the murder charges.
Statutory dates were agreed on by both parties and a readiness conference was scheduled for Friday, February 26, at the Imperial County Superior Courthouse in Brawley.
A preliminary examination was set for Tuesday, March 2, assuming no delays. A bail review was requested and also set for the February 26 court date. The Honorable Judge William Quan announced the current bail was set for $1 million.
