Border Patrol Agents Arrest U.S. Citizen with Two Outstanding Warrants

CALEXICO — El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a United States citizen wanted on two warrants while he was allegedly attempting to smuggle six undocumented individuals Sunday, Jan. 9. He was also allegedly in possession of methamphetamine, according to press release.

Agents stopped a white 2011 Dodge Ram driving on a field road near Bond’s Corner Drain, south of Highway 98 at approximately 3:21 p.m. An interview of the driver determined that he was a US citizen, and the six occupants were all undocumented individuals without the proper documentation to be present in the US legally.

After a further inspection of the vehicle, agents discovered a white crystalized substance and a glass pipe. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

The driver and all occupants were arrested and transported to the Calexico station for further processing. Record checks revealed the driver had two outstanding warrants in Imperial. The warrants were for a probation violation for possession of a stolen vehicle and for person in control of matter displaying minor in sexual conduct.

All undocumented individuals will be processed accordingly.

The male driver was turned over to the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office.

The vehicle was seized per El Centro Sector guidelines.
