court update 4/15/21

Brawley resident Daniella Gonzalez

BRAWLEY — Miguel Romero and Irma Magana, the suspects reportedly in connection to the fatality of Brawley resident Daniella Gonzalez, appeared remotely from the Imperial County Jail for a preliminary hearing on charges of PC 187 (murder) Thursday, April 15, at the Imperial County Superior Courthouse in Brawley.

The Honorable Judge William Quan notified the court of a proposed 1050 motion (involving speedy trial rights) by Romero’s counsel, John Breeze.

An opposition to a filed case continuance by co-defendant Magana’s counsel, Jason Amavisca, was said to have been detected.

Quan ordered all parties to return to the Imperial County Superior Courthouse in Brawley Monday, April 19, for preliminary hearing continuance.
