Kinseys to Highlight African-American Experience During Public Discussion

IMPERIAL VALLEY – This next week Bernard Kinsey and his wife Shirley will be visiting Imperial Valley to speak both to the community and specifically with local educators in two separate events.

On Tuesday evening at the Jimmie Cannon Theater at Southwest High, the public is invited to hear an insightful discussion about how art and history intersect.

The Kinseys will highlight the African-American experience and the often untold story of African-Americans’ impact on our history.

On Wednesday morning, an in-depth training led by Bernard Kinsey will debut a curriculum that Imperial County Office of Education staff have been commissioned to creatE incorporating educational use of the Kinsey Collection.
