EL CENTRO – California Workforce Investment Board awarded the Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation (IVEDC) along with CleanTECH San Diego and the San Diego Regional EDC a Regional Industry Clusters of Opportunity II (RICO II) grant.

This $250,000 grant is funded by Assembly Bill 118, Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program through the California Energy Commission and will help facilitate the continued development of the Imperial Valley’s bio-fuels industry.

Continuing IVEDC’s efforts to promote the valley, President & CEO, Timothy E. Kelley attended Intersolar Europe June 17-21, 2013 in Munich, Germany.

Intersolar Europe is considered the world’s largest exhibition for the solar industry.  Some 50,000 visitors from more than 150 countries and 1,330 exhibitors from 47 countries participated in the event.

“Many companies are ready to enter the North America market.  The presence of IVEDC at these venues makes ancillary businesses aware of the activities in our region,” stated Timothy E. Kelley.

IVEDC will be attending Intersolar North America July 9 – 11 in San Francisco, CA.
