On Monday, November 5, a CHP K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Cadillac Deville for a traffic violation on 13th and D Street in Brawley.
During the traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver, Javier Meneses, 18, from Westmorland, was on parole.
With the assistance of Brawley Police Department, a parole search was conducted on the Cadillac where multiple bundles of heroin and methamphetamine where found.
Methamphetamine was also found on the passenger, Ivan Luna, 38 years old from Calipatria.
Then, with the assistance of Westmorland Police Department, a parole search was conducted at Meneses’ residence in Westmorland.
During the search, additional drugs and contraband were found (methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and materials for packaging for sale).
Diana Barragan, 31, who resides with Meneses, was arrested at the residence after the search.
Child Protective Services were called to the scene and took custody of 2 minors.
Luna was arrested with a $20,000 bail. Barragan received the same charges and bail as Luna.
