Citizenship Classes and Assistance

The Imperial County Free Library Meyer Memorial Holtville Branch staff are pleased to offer a unique, free opportunity for those who are wanting to learn about, and prepare for, citizenship.  On Monday, September 24, 2012, a bilingual class on preparing for the exam will begin at the branch at 2:00 p.m.  The class will last approximately two hours, with further sessions on October 1, 8th and 15th also at 2:00 p.m.  Mr. Raymond Castillo of Holtville, a member of the Imperial County Board of Supervisors who has experience teaching this subject matter, will be the instructor.  Classes are free, but space may be limited, so those interested are invited to sign up ahead of time at the Branch, 101 E. 6th Street, Holtville.

In conjunction with this class, Mr. Alfonso de los Cobos of the Citizenship and Immigration Services section of the Department of Homeland Security, will make special resources available at the Holtville Branch on Monday the 24th of September and on October 15, 2012.  This is an extraordinary opportunity and the public is welcome to call the Branch staff at 760 356-2385 to learn more about it.
