CHP seeks the public’s help in fatal hit-and-run collision


CHP new logoIMPERIAL – The California Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help in locating a vehicle and driver suspected of being involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision Saturday evening.

On April 4, at approximately 8:11 p.m., three juveniles were legally walking westbound along the left hand side of Dealwood Road, east of Dogwood Road.

A silver mid-size SUV, possibly a 1999-2000 Infinity QX4 or Nissan Pathfinder of the same year, was traveling eastbound on Dealwood Road, approaching the juveniles from the opposite direction.

The driver of the vehicle struck one of the juveniles and fled the scene.  The 11-year-old male sustained fatal injuries as a result of the traffic collision.

The vehicle should have damage to the right front headlight, bumper and fender area.  Anyone with information into the identity of the vehicle or driver is asked to call the CHP at (760) 482-2500.  Callers can remain anonymous.
