CALIPATRIA — On March 27, Bill E. Young Middle School in Calipatria held Hornet Alumni Career Day. The day began with a school-wide assembly and introduction of past alumni by Virginia Calsada-Medina, Principal.

The assembly included a welcome by the CheerSquad and a live radio address by Gene Brister of KXO Radio.

Following the assembly, students in grades 5-8 were able to hear presentations from various professions, including: law enforcement, business, community service, health care, and education.

Students were able to interact with role models from their community as well learn about the career path of Calipatria alumni.

“The day was very inspiring,” said Ashley Sanchez, an 8th grader at BYMS.

According to Marisa Gates-Muse, Counselor, Alumni Career Day was an enjoyable and memorable experience for the students and the Hornet Alumni.
