Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia will be present at the meeting as well as representatives of the offices of State Senator Ben Hueso and Rep. Juan Vargas giving a legislative update on the banking situation in the border.

“With the recent closures of bank branches in Calexico, the Chamber of Commerce wanted to provide a forum for the banks, the community, and our legislators to interact and discuss the problem. Physical bank branches provide an essential service to the community.” said Daniel Fitzgerald, President of the Calexico Chamber of Commerce.

Calexico being a border city, our concerns are not limited to Calexico; the impact is Valley wide including Mexicali.” Daniel Romero, Chairman of the Calexico Chamber EDC, said.
