BRAWLEY – The Brawley Youth Football Junior Pee Wee Wildcat squad will head to Florida in style as they capped off their Desert League season with a 33-6 victory over Shadow Hills in the Desert League Conference Junior Pee Wee championship game.
“Overall great season for our team and Brawley youth football,” said Jose Serrano, Brawley’s Youth Football Junior Pee Wee head coach. “Our boys have been working hard since late July, and they have earned their way to nationals.”
The Wildcats and Shadow Hills had both already qualified for nationals and both came into the contest with a 9-1 record. With the victory, the Wildcats head to Florida as the Desert League conference champs.
“Qualifying for nationals is exciting and I look forward to these boys representing the Desert Valley Youth Football Conference, the Imperial Valley, and specifically, Brawley,” added Serrano.
Now that the goal to qualify has been met, and tickets to the National Tournament have been sealed on the field, the Brawley Youth Football organization will begin raising funds in order to pay for their travel and lodging tickets to Florida.
One fundraiser is a raffle on Thursday, November 16, with prizes including $1,000 for first prize, $500 for second, and $300 for third. For tickets or any info regarding the fundraising, contact Stacy at 760-791-1670.
