Body found Sunday evening east of Imperial

Update:  September 24 – 4:55 pm – Tuesdays autopsy revealed cause of death was a gunshot to the head. No other information available at this time.

EL CENTRO – According to Deputy Coroner Steven Green with the Imperial County Coroner’s Office, at 5:22pm Sunday evening, a call was received of a deceased person on a property on west Ralph Road near Clark Road.

The resident found the body in a citrus grove next to their property.

The subject was a male and has not been identified as of yet.

The body was believed to have been there a few weeks.

An autopsy will be performed Tuesday.

The investigation could take one or two weeks because the body is not identifiable.

The body had braces on the teeth and a firearm was found nearby according to Deputy Green.


  1. I hope it is not the young man from Imperial. I so hope he is alive and will return to his family. If it is – it will be closure for them – but so very sad. I have been keeping this family in my prayers.
