Barbara Worth honors October Students of the Month

BRAWLEY -  The Brawley Elementary School Board honored the Barbara Worth Students of the Month of October at their regular school board meeting Tuesday night. The school alternates between 7th graders and 8th graders each month. The two honored for October were Maria Sanchez and Ashlyn Taylor.

Maria Sanchez ,  a 7th grader with a 3.87 gpa, moved to Brawley as a small child from Mexicali, Mexico. She plays the flute and piccolo for the Bobcat band, recently marched in the Cattle Call Parade, and enjoys math along with her music.

Ashlyn Taylor, also in 7th grade, has a 3.85 gpa, and moved to Brawley from Indiana. She is a G.A.T.E. honor student, loves basketball, math, and is involved in her church, Western Avenue Baptist Church.

Brian Taylor, Barbara Worth Principal, handed each student several gift certificates local businesses donate to honor these achievers.
