ATV Collision Near Bombay Beach


CHP new logoEL CENTRO – On Saturday, October 26, 2013, at around 12:00 p.m. a traffic collision occurred in the open desert area North of Bombay Beach.

The driver, a 46 year old male from Corona, CA was driving a 2013 Polaris ATV westbound on Bombay Beach’s open desert at an unknown rate of speed.

The driver lost control of the ATV and overturned coming to rest on the ATV’s right side.

There were three passengers involved in this collision, a 45 year old female, from Corona, CA suffered from swelling of the head and pain to the legs. A 5 year old female also from Corona, CA suffered from pain to the left leg. The third passenger was an 8 year old female, who complained of pain to the left leg.

The driver sustained fatal injuries and two out of three passengers were transported by Gold Cross to Pioneers Memorial Hospital after sustaining minor to moderate injuries.

This traffic collision is still under investigation.


  1. This was a tragic thing . We were there at Glamis North when it happened . Terrible for the family especially for the kids. My families thoughts and prayers are with the family .
