EL CENTRO — The first meeting of Southwest Valley 4H club was held Thursday, September 10, at Ben Hulse Elementary School.

President Dillon Sanchez introduced his officer team of Vice President of Program, Kennedy Pechtl; Vice President of Committees, Gabby Esparza; Vice President of Membership, Victoria Kaminski; Secretary of Recording, Morgan Enzi; Secretary of Correspondence, Haleigh Townsel; Secretary of Attendance, Melanie Jarvis, treasure Allison Holbrook, Healthy Living Affairs Drew Brennan/Sam Holbrook; Reporter, Kate Richardson; Historian, Isabel Esparza; Sergeant of Arms, Luke Cesar; and Recreation/Hospitality, Addison Browning, all serving for the 2019-2020 club year.

The guest speaker was Officer Stiff from the Imperial Police Department and her drug sniffing dog, Judy. They gave a presentation on what they do.

The projects offered for 2019-2020 are leather crafts, the knowledge bowl, entomology, rocketry, horse, dog, lambs, calves, pigs, arts and crafts, and baking.

The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. October 8 at Ben Hulse Elementary school
