Writer says IID has a last chance to get it right

letter to the editorTime to remember Alexis de Tocqueville’s wise words:
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”
Alexis de Tocqueville was a very keen observer of human action…I suggest you read it twice; You may find some things familiar.

IID has a chance to present to Court on the 19th…I assume IID will present a brief, by their new legal team…to replace Osias’s brief which is still of record with the court. Ron Olson and his firm are the best of the best at extremely complex contracts. If anyone can claw back benefits or change profoundly obscene terms and conditions, he can. Support and encourage IID to go all out for this last chance.

Ask MTO to go all out to save something for the Valley… they are 22 million we are 170,000 — we have to be smarter-faster…are we ?

REMEMBER the Alamo!!!!       REMEMBER THE QSA !!!!!

The soul of  Imperial Valley is the productive land…The Heart is its precious water. This is your land, and as you apply  water  each year to grow food, you maintain the water right. Under the Appropriation system of water law, this process creates a property right…attached to your land. Without this water right, the Valley would return to sand…Who would that benefit???? Who is in control?
