EL CENTRO – WalMart State Giving granted funding to the Imperial Valley Food Bank, has been utilized for the purchase of a forklift.
In order to assist the needs in infrastructure and capacity, the forklift will serve as an essential piece of equipment to the warehouse staff at IVFB.
The ability to transport pallets of food within the IVFB facility is crucial and the new forklift will ensure storing of items remain accurate and safe for employees and volunteers.
To date the IVFB serves 20,000 individuals in Imperial County, their warehouse stores all of the food donated by the community and provided by USDA.
The new forklift has the ability to lift and store items up to 3 pallets high, allowing IVFB to properly maintain its minimal space.
IVFB extends their thanks to WalMart State and the employees who selected this project, for their continuous support in operational funding and assistance in rural Imperial County.
