Valley Swimmers at Granite Hill for CIF


swimming-butterfly-clipart-butterfly-swim-swimmer-silhouette-abstract-water-frontal-view-39713612-1The Imperial Valley swim team CIF finalists took their game to Granite Hill May 11 to go stroke to stroke with the other CIF qualified swimmers in Southern California.


Sammy Estes, Imperial, took 6th place out of a field of 16 swimmers, in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.63. Estes also took 5th in the 100-yard butterfly, with a time of 59.33.


The Wildcat ladies finished 14th place (2 heats/16 relays) dropping 3.23 from their previous time, coming in at 4:05.67 for the 400-yard free style relay. The girls also took 15th (2 heats/16 relays) in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The girls dropped 1.32 off their previous score. Their time was 1:49.01


BUHS junior Ross Wilson took 11th (2 heats/16 swimmers) with a time of 22.51 in the 50-yard freestyle. The BUHS boys 200-yard free style relay took 14th dropping 0.16 off their time coming in with a time of 136.07.


The BUHS team ended the season setting four new Wildcat records of the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle, and the 200-yard individual medley.
