Triple Digits May Be On Their Way, Imperial Valley

“Portions of the Imperial Valley may see their first triple-digit high temperature readings of the year on Friday.”

A warming trend that may break the triple-digit mark for high heat in the Imperial Valley for the first time this year will begin Thursday, meteorologists said.

“High temperatures in the upper 80s to mid-90s are likely west of the mountains today and Friday,” according to the National Weather Service. “Portions of the Imperial Valley may see their first triple-digit high temperature readings of the year on Friday.”

The agency advised residents to limit outdoor activities during the hot spell and to drink plenty of fluids, avoiding caffeine and alcohol.

A slow cooling trend is expected to begin on Sunday.
