Traffic Accident Kills Pedestrian near Salton Sea


the-beatTHERMAL — An evening traffic accident killed a pedestrian in an agricultural area near the Salton Sea, according to the California Highway Patrol website and Riverside County Fire Department officials.

The victim died at the scene of the 5:18 p.m. crash Thursday, Nov. 10, at Harrison Street and 70th Avenue, near Thermal and about five miles northwest of the Salton Sea.

The man apparently was hit by a black Ford car, according to preliminary reports to CHP dispatchers.

HOLTVILLE — Vessey Farms reported a theft of a homemade trailer described as a belt loader approximately 20-25 feet in length and 2 inches wide. The trailer had a h 6.5 HP motor at the end of it. The trailer was valued at $10-12 thousand. The reporting person said the trailer was taken November 11.

SALTON CITY – Five units were dispatched to Salton City following a 911 call by a neighbor who said a wife was in a physical alteration with her husband, who left for work in El Centro. The victim did not need medical attention, but she doesn’t have a cell phone because her husband took it.

BRAWLEY – On November 11, at Hwy 86 and Kalin, there was a two-vehicle accident, one vehicle appeared to have crossed into the center median with negative injuries. In the other vehicle, two adults and one child passenger stated they were injured. The adult female suffered neck pain, the adult male left arm pain, and the juvenile reported back pain and left arm pain.
