EL CENTRO – The Imperial Disadvantaged Community Outreach Program (DAC Outreach Program), funded by a grant from the California Department of Water Resources (CDWR), will be conducting two public workshops to discuss the region’s community needs related to water service, water quality, sewage treatment and flood control.
The primary purpose of the workshops is to provide interested community members an opportunity to learn about these topics and voice their opinions. The workshops will be conducted in English and Spanish.
The workshops will begin with a presentation on the mission of the DAC Outreach Program, ongoing regional efforts to identify and prioritize community water-related needs, and opportunities for the Imperial Region to obtain CDWR grant funds that are available for water supply, water quality, sewage treatment and flood control projects identified in the Imperial IRWMP. Following each presentation, workshop attendees will be invited to participate in an open discussion regarding their concerns and priorities.
The workshops will be held on Wednesday, February 19th, at 2:30 PM at Holtville City Council Chambers; and on Thursday, February 20th, at 10:00 AM at Brawley City Council Chambers. Refreshments will be served and door prizes given away.
