CALEXICO- On Monday, March 28, Calexico police officers were dispatch to a reported stabbing. Officers located a Hispanic adult male with a stab wound to the upper chest area allegedly done by a family member. According to the sheriff’s logs, a second family member tried to intervene and take the knife away. As a result, she too was cut. The suspect was not located and is outstanding. The victims were transported to the hospital for further medical evaluation. Later the male victim’s wound was determined life-threatening and was flown to an undisclosed hospital.
CALEXICO- While Officer Peter West was issuing parking citations on Monday, March 28, he attempted to contact a subject for jaywalking. Officer West called the subject over to him, but instead of stopping, the subject ran away. While in pursuit, another subject blocked Officer West’s patrol car with his body and challenged Officer West to fight — all in an attempt to assist his friend in running away, according to the police logs. Mwaniki Mwanafunzi Rafikiboogum, 22, and Adrian Munoz, 19, were both arrested for delaying a peace officer in the performance of his duties. Both were transported to the Imperial County Jail for booking.
