WESTMORLAND – Tuesday, around 12:30 p.m. an officer stopped a bicyclist at 5th and G Street in Westmorland. The subject said he had a baggie containing marijuana. He was cited for possession according to the Imperial County Sheriff’s logs.
SALTON CITY – Two units, with a Gold Cross ambulance on standby, responded to a call around 4:00 p.m. from a 58 year-old female who claimed someone was poisoning her air and she was having chest pains. She complained of difficulty breathing and that her ankles were swollen.
The subject was transported to JFK Hospital. The subject secured all the windows and vents en route. The hospital will do a toxicity test to see what kinds of poisons were in her. She arrived at the hospital at 5:00 p.m.
WINTERHAVEN – Quechan Casino reported Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. that their cash cage was checking the money and the machine stopped on s $50 dollar bill. The printing on the bill was unaligned and had several printing errors.
The sheriff’s office notified the US Treasury.
HWY 86 CHECKPOINT – Gerardo Lechuga was stopped at the Hwy 86 Checkpoint for allegedly traveling with 85 grams of weed, 112 grams of Methamphetamine, 6 Zanax, 108 Soma, 28 Tromadol, and 6 Oxicodone.
The DEA was notified.
EL CENTRO – In inspecting Sheriff patrol vehicle #225E during a pre-shift inspection, a plastic baggie with what appeared to be a rock like substance was found at 9:00 p.m. under the rear passenger seat. It was secured and turned into the evidence room. According to the sheriff’s logs, no other items were found.
CALIPATRIA – Monday, the Sheriff’s office received a call on a possible overdose. At 4:40 p.m., the officer who spoke with the EMS at the field validated the subject had overdosed.
According to fellow workers, he was working in the field and his co-workers saw him intravenously use drugs, possible heroin. The co-workers claim he is a heroin user.
After being revived at Pioneers Memorial Hospital, the subject denied any attempts of suicide.
