THe BEATHOLTVILE – On September 26,  a jackknifing traffic accident occurred involving two vehicles west bound on the Interstate 8 near Vanderlinden off-ramp at approximately 5:22 p.m. The reporting person stated a brown Nissan Sentra was stuck on the side of the road under the bridge in the mud, and that a truck with a trailer jackknifed, allegedly causing the accident.
The solo person inside the Nissan Sentra at the time of the accident was injured and life flighted by Reach Air Medical Services. There are no reports on the condition of the driver of the second vehicle or passengers.

IMPERIAL-On Friday September 26, around 9:51 p.m.,  three units responded to a call about a high speed chase . Officers were tailing a black 4 seat off-road razor with no rear lights speeding at 60 mph going east bound on Wheeler Road. Subject headed towards the dip area of Imler and Huff Roads and proceeded to continue into the desert area after turning their headlights off.

HEBER-Six units responded to a call concerning a white truck speeding over 100 mph around 3:54 a.m. on September 28, 2014. The driver ran the stop sign on Aten and was heading south bound on Dogwood throwing items from the vehicle. The subject was detained after turning right on Orange Street.

WINTERHAVEN-On September 27, around 6:40 p.m. the Imperial County Sheriff’s Department received two calls concerning a white adult male allegedly nude near the Winterhaven off ramp on the Interstate 8. The reporting person stated the male was ‘running around nude and yelling obscene comments and making obscene gestures’.  Subject was detained for indecent exposure and possibly under the influence.

WINTERHAVEN-A call was received on September 27, around 1:44 p.m. concerning a brush fire near Cocopah and Arnold.  Reporting person stated that homeless persons and a structure were near the brush fire. Officers attempted to reach the structure and homeless people by a 4×4 due to the dirt road being too muddy. The people living in the area were aware of the fire but refused to leave. The brush fire was extinguished by Yuma Rural Metro.

CALEXICO-On September 28, a single car rollover car accident occurred around 11:40 a.m. on Highway 98. The female driver was life-flighted to the nearest hospital through Reach Air Medical Services. The reporting person stated only one occupant was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
