THe BEATDESERT SHORES- On September 5, 2014 eleven units responded to a 911 call concerning a fire at the Desert Shores Market located at 320 South Scott Drive around 7 am.When the units arrived at scene the air conditioner that was located on top of the building was engulfed in flames.

No one was in the building during the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

SEELEY- Two Units responded to a burglary call located on Derrick Road on September 5, 2014. The reporting person found two broken windows at the location of the incident. The burglary appeared to have happened sometime between August 30, 2014 and September 5, 2014.

Items missing from the home consisted of a Maytag washing machine, a blue Gould water pump and a black Television. The total amount of items taken from the residence was approximately 1600$.

SEELEY-On September 5, 2014 two units responded to a burglary call on Derrick Road concerning a residence that was broken into between the dates of August 22, 2014 and September 5, 2014. The reporting person Virginia Chastain told Imperial County Sherriff’s that her residence had been burglarized. Chastain told the officers that significant items have been taken.

The items that were taken from the home was a red black and decker weed eater, red snap on tool box with a Harley Davidson sticker on it and other miscellaneous stickers.

WINTERHAVEN- On September 6, 2014 four units were called to a trespassing call received around 1 pm. The reporting person stated a white male subject was standing in their yard with a gun and threatening to ‘kill’ everyone.
The subject was held at gunpoint and detained at the location of the incident. The reported gun was confiscated and the incident is under investigation.

WESTMORLAND- .7 grams of methamphetamine was recovered from a single vehicle on September 7, 2014 around 7 pm.  United States Border Patrol confiscated the controlled substance at the Highway 86 checkpoint location.

Subject driving the vehicle was 35 year old female Irene Oralia Lira. Lira has been booked into the Imperial County Jail.

EL CENTRO- On September 5, 2014 three units responded to a traffic hazard call around 9:39 in the morning concerning hay in the road. A large semi carrying a large amount of hay bales fell unto the middle of the road near Dogwood road and the Interstate 8 west bound.

Approximately 40 hay bales were removed from the right lane and shoulder that was blocking traffic from proceeding.
